For months you have seen the kiosks
all over Second Life. The Relay for Life is one of the few approved charities in SL
and raises funds for research at the American Cancer Society. Let's cure cancer!
This week is the finale. This weekend we ask that everyone come to the Relay site. Walks all over the nation are taking place in
Reality. You can do yours here in SL. This is where we show them what SL
Residents are made of. Challenge everyone to walk a lap.
There are luminaries (candles) to light; come and claim one early for a loved one you may have in Reality that suffers
from cancer. At 11am SLT on July 19, the track will be for all survivors only as we cheer them on; at 12 we ALL begin walking. If you are a person that has been touched by cancer, come and take a survivor's lap as we your friends are there to cheer you on.
There are tons of events from live singers to dances to games... you have to come to see them all.

many fun and educational events to enhance your experience as you participate in RFL and help us defeat
cancer while we care for its victims and support its caregivers.

RFL Walking Track - Walk, run, skate, or traverse the track. Explore
35 beautiful sims that make up the track, with each complete circuit helping us raise more funds in the fight against cancer. Do it with your friends; bring everyone you know, but as Nike says, "Just Do It!" We have a special theme for each lap; check out the theme at the start of each lap and have fun with it, but don't worry if you can't fit into a particular theme, again, just do it! The only exceptions are the first and last laps which are reserved out of respect for survivors and caregivers (first lap) and the teams lap (last lap).

Scavenger Hunt - Want to learn more about cancer and pick up some neat prizes along the way? Hidden in each sim is a sign with a clue on it; the clues are questions about cancer and its prevention. Find the sign, answer the question correctly (you get 4 tries but then there are only 4 possible answers to each question), and you get the prize. Collect all 35 along the track and find the two hidden rooms in the Corporate Sims for a total of 37 prizes!

Fishing - You know a diet healthy in fish is good for preventing cancer, so come catch your virtual dinner. Sweegy Manilow has set up a beautiful area for fishing in our
all-water sim. Visit his vendor on the dock, buy the supplies you need and fish! All proceeds go towards the Relay total, and it's FUN too!

Sailing - Reduce your stress while contributing to Relay. Again, join us on the
all-water sim and for a nominal fee/donation, sail away to bliss and relaxation on one of the fabulous sailboats contributed by Nber Medici and her team of sailors.

Archery Contest - Journey back with us to the Middle Ages, to Arthur and his knights, to Glastonbury and Avalon, to Sherwood Forest and the legendary Robin of Locksley. How good are you with a bow and arrow? Buy a quiver of arrows from Her Majesty's vendor and particpate in one of the archery contests. Contests will be at
12 noon, 5 PM and 8 PM on Saturday, July 19, and again at 5 AM Sunday, July 20. Come to the start sim and take a futuristic tp shuttle back to the past! Once there, the contest will determine who is the best archer and worthy to join the Queen's Guard. Prizes will come from Her Majesty, Empress May Rosebud's private collection of scarves, to adorn the neck of any archer or knight, or with jewelry for any Maid Marions who win! And of course, all proceeds benefit the Relay! Will yours be the arrow that pierces the heart of cancer?

Bull riding and Barrel Races - Are you a sod bustin', rodeo riding, straight shootin' son (or daughter) of the old West? How long can YOU stay on Black Bart the Bull?
Black Bart is the meanest, orneriest, critter this side of Perdition. Can you ride him or will you join the Ghost Riders in the Sky? Stuff a few Lindens in the kiosk and hop on the old bull, or participate in one of the Barrel races and see if you can bring your barrel in first. Stomp on cancer with your contributions; be the US Marshal that brings the outlaw cancer to justice, and have more fun than the celebrated jumping frogs of Calaveras County. Bull riding on odd hours and Barrel racing on even hours starting at 1 PM SLT. Dr Ren Stonecutter will be on hand to patch up the survivors! Look for the transporter at the Start Sim for a quick ride to the Old West.

Gondola Rides - Now here's just the ticket for the
romantic couple looking for some elegance as they banish cancer from our world. Buy a ticket for a gondola ride from one of the vendors along the way and have a romantic leisurely ride along the beautiful waterways of our Old European sim. Catch a short tp flight from the Start Sim and experience this incredible journey through one of our most beautiful sims courtesy of Emileigh Starbrook and the Design Team of SLRFL. Emileigh has dontated the boats and their scripts so every Linden you pay goes straight into the Relay Treasury to defeat our common enemy, cancer. Celebrate Life, Celebrate Beauty, Celebrate Love, take a gondola ride and enjoy!

Mystical Sounds of the Elves - Ever wonder what it is like to live as an
Elf out of Tolkien, a fairy person from the Mystical Isle, a hobbit or some other creature from the pages of Fantasy? Come take the mystical transport device from the Start Sim and visit the Elven grotto and participate in the Circle of Life. Donate a small entry fee and enjoy the soft mystical sounds of
Elven instruments that you can play, either alone or as part of a drum circle. You might even meet an
Elf or two while you are there (there are over 1700 in SL now!)
